HOME AND VILLAGE SECURITY

This is a busy time for thieves and bogus officials. Make sure that your security arrangements are in place (don't forget garages, sheds and outhouses). Don't leave anything of value lying around in your garden and do not allow anyone into your house who claims to be from your gas supplier, your electricity supplier, Yorkshire Water or anyone else without proof that they are genuine. If in doubt ask them to come back later after you have verified their credentials with their employer.

Be a good neighbour and If you see anyone acting suspiciously call the Police. There is a new "Non Emergency" number which is 101 but if you see a crime actually taking place you should still use 999.

There are a range of forms which you can submit online to Wakefield MDC.. to request various actions. E.G. Winter Gritting, Bulky refuse collection etc
